With its combined auditory and visual stimulation, this series of videotapes and
accompanying booklets provides an excellent practice format for patients with neuromuscular
disorders. Patients with apraxia or dysarthric type involvement find this series
of exercises and word/phrase drills of increasing complexity very beneficial. Both
patients and their families will appreciate the availability of this resource to
be used at home. The videos were designed to help improve the mobility, strength,
and coordination of the patient’s speech musculature. Although the production section
is lengthy, it is organized to provide many "mini" sessions. These tapes promote
independent practice between sessions and are an excellent resource for a carryover
program upon a patient’s discharge from therapy.

Working with Words on Your Own (80 minutes)
Words appear on screen as spoken. Booklet contains additional practice words. Includes
oral exercises with slow movement for the tongue, lips, and jaws. Word production
practice consists of 620 simple words of 25 phonemes and focuses on initial, medial,
and final positions.
