Other Ways to Give (Donations)
Bequests
Gifts through wills are popular because they are easy to arrange and may be
changed at your discretion. When properly drafted by a qualified attorney, a
will minimizes estate settlement costs and taxes, arranges for your property to
be managed as you want, provides for your spouse, children, friends, and others
you want to remember, and allows you to support charitable organizations. If you
make a bequest to Visiting Nurse Service and/or Hospice of VNS, you can do so in
several ways, such as:
- You can leave a specific dollar amount.
- You can designate a percentage of your estate.
- You can arrange a
trust in your will to provide income to a loved one, with a gift to Visiting
Nurse Service and/or Hospice of VNS resulting after that person’s lifetime.
A charitable gift to VNS and/or Hospice of VNS through a will is deductible for
applicable estate tax purposes.
