Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service (Hospice & Palliative Care)
Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, works to alleviate suffering,
engender hope, promote living and facilitate grieving among patients with serious
or life-limiting illnesses, their families and their communities. We are seeking
the following:
Volunteers to make baked goods for the family kitchen in the Hospice
Care Center.
Volunteers to join a monthly craft circle that makes items for
patients.
Volunteer musicians to play in the Hospice of VNS Care Center.
Licensed barbers, stylists and nail technicians to provide services
to patients.
Balloon artists, face-painting artists and magicians for special
events.
Groups are also needed to host special activities for Hospice Care Center
patients and families. Groups could host an ice cream social, tea party or other
appropriate social event.
Donations of money, books on CD, music CDs, CD cases, CD players, personal
stationery, small dry-erase boards, journals, greeting cards, crafting ribbon,
children's books, children's coloring books, art supplies, colored paper,
large-print books, family-friendly DVDs, bulletin board supplies, personal-care items (new towels and
washcloths, mild soaps, shampoos, etc.), disposable cameras, a hand-held tape recorder
and blank cassette tapes.
