Hospice of VNS Heroes for Hospice Awards Dinner
Over 200 people attended the Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service (VNS) ¡§Heroes for
Hospice¡¨ awards dinner on November 18, 2009 at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn. The
event honored heroes dedicated to helping terminally ill patients and their
families through compassionate care, advocacy and philanthropic support. The
award winners embody the spirit, quality and compassion of hospice and the value
it holds for all.
Justin T. Rogers Spirit of Hospice Award

Charles M. Billow Quality of Life in Hospice Award

Charles and Margaret Schreiner Hospice Compassion Award
- Copley-Fairlawn Middle School
- Hospice Soup Ministry of Faith Lutheran Church
The event raised over $44,000 towards end-of-life patient care and supportive
services. A silent auction ran throughout the evening. The event is part of
Hospice of VNS¡¦ 30th anniversary celebration and the 15th anniversary of
opening the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center, which has served over 20,000
patients since it opened.
