October 29 - Advance Directives Workshop: Living Wills & More
Akron General Hospice of VNS will hold a free "Advance Directives Workshop: Living Wills & More" on October 29 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Akron General Health & Wellness Center - West, 4125 Medina Rd., Montrose. A medical crisis can happen at any time, at any age. If you became seriously ill or were in a car accident and unable to make your own medical decisions, would your family know what to do?

Attend this workshop to learn about the importance of creating your advance directives – including a Living Will and Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care – legal documents that go into effect only if you are incapacitated and unable to speak for yourself. Advance directives will help to ensure you get the medical care you would want, even when doctors and family members are making the decisions for you. Social workers will be present to answer questions and assist with filling out your paperwork that night, if desired. This program is free and refreshments will be served. To register, please call Stephanie at 330-668-4683 by October 22.
